Exercising regularly can help with gait, balance, and coordination, ultimately aiming to slow the effects of bradykinesia.

Having a good diet can reduce constipation and ensure that medication can work effectively.

It is important to get enough sleep each night because it could allow for better function during the day. Many PD patients have trouble sleeping, so it is good to get the most that you can.

Many PD patients struggle with mental health issues, and it can feel hard to manage with the disease. Seeking expert help creates additional resources for patients.

Medications

Since Parkinson’s is caused by decreased dopamine levels, one approach to treatment is increasing dopamine levels using medications such as levodopa-carbidopa.
